THE PERSON BEHIND THE STUDIO
About
A little bit about me, and the background behind Candid Studio.
Hi! I'm Becca!
I'm a Creative Director at a performance marketing agency, where I work with well-known brands to improve how they show up online — from ad creative on Meta to website design and user experience.
Before that, I spent nine years at GoCompare, working my way up from Creative Designer to Creative Manager. That's where I built a strong foundation across design, branding and marketing, and learned how to create work that doesn't just look good, but actually performs.
Over the years, I've built a mix of skills across:
Graphic and digital design
Website design, with a focus on UX/UI
Creative and marketing strategy
Photography — I also shoot weddings
Using AI to speed up my process — never to replace the thinking behind the work
All of that experience is now going somewhere different. I choose to spend it on South Wales' independent businesses — the cafés, the trades, the salons, the small teams doing brilliant work. That's who I want to support, and help look as good as they are.

Outside of work
I adore my job and what I do, so I spend a lot of time working — but outside of it, I do have things I love too.
I have a wonderful fiancé named Pete, who I've been with since 2007. We have a cat named Harley and a chinchilla named Gizmo. My little family and I are homebodies, and love to curl up on the sofa together, watch TV and movies with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.
If I'm cooking or cleaning, I'll have true crime podcasts or videos playing in the background — I also love Two Hot Takes and other similar shows.
I'm obsessed with buying books. I love getting lost in a story every night before bed, and I've been known to go into The Works and come out with twelve new ones.
When I allow myself to lose an evening, I love a cosy game like Planet Zoo, House Flipper or My Time at Sandrock. I'm also a big animal fan — I love the birds and owls in my garden, feeding the hedgehogs, and I've even rescued a wood mouse out of my attic. Giant pandas, otters and cats are particular favourites.
